Rent Split Calculator
Add your roommates and choose how you want to split the rent — equally, by room size, by a custom percentage, or in proportion to income.
Each person pays
How this is calculated
Equal split divides the total rent evenly across everyone entered.
By room size, each person's share is proportional to their room size relative to the total of all room sizes entered.
Custom percentage lets you assign your own percentage per person — if the percentages don't add to 100%, we normalize them proportionally so the total still equals the full rent.
By income splits rent in proportion to each person's income relative to the combined household income.
Formula
Equal: each share = total rent ÷ number of peopleBy room size / income / custom %: each share = total rent × (person's value ÷ sum of everyone's value)Worked example
A $2,000 rent split equally between two roommates is $1,000 each.
