Bill Split Calculator
Enter the bill total, tax and tip, then split it equally or by what each person actually ordered.
How this is calculated
Tip is calculated on the subtotal (before tax), which is the most common convention. Tax is calculated on the subtotal you enter.
In equal mode, the grand total (subtotal + tax + tip) is divided evenly. In items mode, each person's tax and tip share is proportional to their share of the subtotal.
Formula
Tax amount = subtotal × tax % ÷ 100Tip amount = subtotal × tip % ÷ 100Grand total = subtotal + tax amount + tip amountEqual split: grand total ÷ number of peopleWorked example
A $100 bill with 10% tax and 20% tip totals $130 — $65 each if split equally two ways.
